Human Resources Department

The work of the Human Resources Department is aligned to the Vision of the Organisation. We promote fairness and equity, compliance with legislation and policies and procedures, supporting staff through their employment and beyond and at the heart of any decision is the impact on the individuals being supported.

Leading on initiatives such as health and well-being, improving the employee experience, the Human Resources Department are involved from pre-employment right through the employment journey.

Quality, Risk & Safety Department

The Quality, Risk, and Safety Department at Muiríosa Foundation is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for those we support. We actively monitor and assess potential risks, implementing strategies to mitigate them while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Our team is committed to maintaining a safe environment for both individuals and staff, adhering to regulatory guidelines and best practices to deliver reliable, high-quality services.

Properties and Facilities Department

The Properties and Facilities Department is dedicated to ensuring that our organisation's buildings are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. We are responsible for the management and upkeep of all facilities including fire prevention and security, ensuring they meet the needs of employees, visitors and the people we support while complying with health, safety, and environmental standards. Our team manages a range of tasks, including routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, refurbishments, fit-outs and liaising with property owners and local authorities. As of early 2025 our department manages 208 properties across 8 counties. These include residential, day services, pre-schools and administrative buildings.

We are committed to maintaining a safe environment by ensuring all fire safety protocols are followed. This includes regular oversight and inspection of fire alarms, extinguishers and emergency lighting, as well as ensuring evacuations drills and fire safety management plans are up to date. Our responsibility is to protect the well-being of everyone by preventing and responding effectively to fire hazards. We are also dedicated to sustainability initiatives, managing energy use and implementing green practices to contribute to a healthier environment. At the heart of our mission is the goal to provide a functional, safe and supportive environment that makes life easier for our staff and enhances the lives of the people we support.

ICT Department

At Muiríosa Foundation, the ICT Department is integral to maintaining the technology that supports our organisation. Whether it's the Management and Support Departments or our managers and staff working directly on the frontline, every role is crucial. As an organisation providing support to individuals, technology plays a vital role in delivering effective support.

ICT Department Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Providing helpdesk services to resolve technical issues for employees, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware and software.
  • Network Management: Managing and maintaining the company's network infrastructure, including internet connectivity, internal networks, and VPNs.
  • Cybersecurity: Implementing security measures to protect the organisation’s data and systems from cyber threats, including firewalls, antivirus software, and regular security audits.
  • Data Management: Overseeing data storage, backup, and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Software Management: Installing, updating, and managing software applications used by Muiríosa, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Maintaining and repairing computer hardware, servers, and other IT equipment to prevent downtime and extend their lifespan.
  • IT Strategy and Planning: Developing and implementing IT strategies aligned with the organisation’s goals, including budgeting for IT expenses and planning for future technology needs.
  • Vendor Management: Managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring quality service.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that Muiríosa complies with relevant IT regulations and standards, such as data protection laws.

Finance Department

The Finance Department supports Muiríosa Foundation to deliver on its vision and mission by ensuring the correct and most efficient financial management systems are in place.
