Objectives of Community Employment
The Community Employment (CE) programme is a DSP Employment Programme which has been designed to assist people who are long-term unemployed and other disadvantaged people to get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities.
During the placement, participants are encouraged to seek permanent or part-time jobs elsewhere based on the experience and new skills they have gained.
Benefits of CE
- Job Placement in your local community
- 19.5 hours per week or 39 hours per fortnight giving you the chance to gain employment during your hours off
- One to One Mentoring
- Certified Training & Development
- Personally designed exit plan
- Curriculum Vitae Preparation
- Childcare Support
Eligibility
Please refer to your Intreo Office to check your eligibility to participate on CE. In general, you should be in receipt of a DSP payment in your own right for a period of not less than 12 months.
Participant Development
Training presents a prime opportunity to expand the knowledge base of all employees and works in conjunction with onsite experience. We provide all mandatory training required e.g. Manual Handling, First Safety and Protection of Vulnerable Adults. This is necessary to ensure safety at work.
